Before the long version, here's what people miss.
- The application fee is non-refundable once Paystack confirms — we say so on the form.
- One application per WhatsApp number, per cycle. Submit twice and we keep the earlier one.
- Every application is scored against the four published criteria; the strongest get a detailed team review. Decisions are final.
- We will never DM you to say you've won. If someone does, it's a scam — report and ignore.
What you're agreeing to.
Cashogi is operated by Cashogi Limited (RC 7842910), a Nigerian company registered in Lagos. By using this website, submitting an application, or making a payment, you accept these Terms of Use and our Privacy notice. If you don't accept them, please don't use the site.
We may update these terms — material changes are posted to the notice board at least 14 days before they take effect. The version number changes when we do, and the version that applies to any application is the one that was live at the moment you submitted it.
Who can apply.
- You must be 18 or older (sixth-form Education Fund exception: 16–18 with parental consent, per the privacy notice).
- You must hold a valid Nigerian WhatsApp number. International numbers can't currently be accepted because of how we communicate decisions.
- You must meet the eligibility criteria of the specific cycle, posted on that grant's page.
- You must apply on your own behalf, not for someone else. If you're a parent or guardian helping a sixth-former, they're the applicant; you're the contact.
The application fee.
Each cycle has an application fee, published on the cycle page before you start. Fees are non-refundable once Paystack confirms the charge. We say this on the form, above the pay button, in bold. The reason is that fee revenue is committed to next cycle's pool as soon as the cycle closes — by the time decisions are made, the money has already been allocated.
Two narrow exceptions:
- Paystack reverses the transaction — refund happens automatically.
- We cancel the cycle ourselves before any decisions are made (we've never done this, but the term has to exist). In that case, fees are returned in full within 14 working days.
Discount codes.
- Codes are case-sensitive and apply at checkout, before payment.
- One code per application; codes can't be stacked.
- A code's terms (cap, expiry, eligible cycles) are posted with the code on the notice board.
- Codes have caps. When the cap is hit, the code stops working immediately — no retroactive applications.
- Misuse (a partner sharing codes on multiple accounts, abuse of beta promo codes) voids the application and we don't refund.
What we promise.
- Every application is scored against the published rubric (names redacted), and the strongest applications are reviewed in detail by the Cashogi team. The founder signs off the final recipient. Scores and team notes are kept for audit.
- 97% of every fee goes to the recipient pool. The remaining 3% covers Paystack and operations. Audited at the end of every cycle and posted publicly.
- Decisions arrive in a published window. Most cycles announce within 4–6 weeks of close, and we tell you the window before you apply.
- You'll always get a reply — yes or no, by email if you provided one, by WhatsApp regardless.
- The team scores and the team decides. No outsourced panels.
What we don't promise.
- That you'll be selected. Acceptance rate is currently around 11% across cycles. Most applicants are not selected; that doesn't mean your application was bad.
- That decisions are reviewable. Decisions are final. We don't reopen scores or run appeals.
- That the site is 100% available. We aim for 99.5% uptime. If you can't submit because the site is down, the cycle close date is automatically extended in proportion — we post the new deadline.
- That you'll receive any specific amount. Grant amounts are pool-funded; if a cycle's pool grows, awards grow. If it shrinks, awards shrink. The cap is the disbursed amount, not your expectation.
Submitting an application.
By submitting, you confirm that the information you've provided is accurate, the essay is your own work, and you understand the fee is non-refundable. We may verify identifying details before disbursing a grant — if we can't reconcile them, we void the grant and select the next-ranked applicant.
AI-generated essays are not against the rules, but they tend to score poorly on the clarity and specificity criteria. If you use AI to draft, treat it like a first pass and rewrite in your own voice.
Decisions and disbursement.
- Decisions are communicated by WhatsApp (always) and email (if provided). We will never DM via Instagram, X, TikTok or any other channel.
- Disbursement is by Paystack bank transfer to the recipient's verified Nigerian account. We don't disburse cash, vouchers, or crypto.
- Recipients are publicly named on the recipients page (name + cycle + amount), unless they request anonymity at acceptance. We honour anonymity requests on receipt.
- Recipients send a one-line receipt-of-funds within 7 days. This is posted to the ledger.
Misconduct and abuse.
We void applications and forfeit fees (and reserve the right to ban future applications) for: duplicate submissions on different WhatsApp numbers; identity misrepresentation; coordinated discount-code abuse; harassment of staff or other applicants on any channel.
We also reserve the right to terminate access to the site for users who attempt to disrupt service, scrape data at scale, or compromise other applicants' submissions.
Liability and disputes.
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of Cashogi is limited to the application fee you paid for the cycle in question. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (including loss of opportunity from not being selected).
These terms are governed by Nigerian law, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Lagos State. Before any court action, both parties will try to resolve any dispute by writing, to legal@cashogi.ng from your end. We commit to a substantive reply within 14 working days of any written complaint.
